Biography

Welcome to my Website, you probably want to know how I got started so here are a few details about myself.

As a small child I was always into making things, with paper, baking, knitting, crochet, sewing and of course patchwork.

In those days the patchwork side of things consisted of cutting up squares of fabric and squares of paper, which were smaller than the fabric and folding the fabric over the paper and tacking it down. These were then placed right sides together and oversewn along one edge gradually increasing in number to form a larger piece. This would be determined by the amount of available fabric and would consist of leftover from dressmaking and even not so well worn bits of clothing. My how times have changed!

Also, in my family there were tailors, dressmakers, handbag makers, milliners and other crafts people and what I have learned from them I have also included in my own work over the following years. So don’t be surprised if you see the odd technique from another craft in some of my creations.

Over the past 2 years I have been working on projects with my Daughter, Victoria, an award winning Biologist and Photographer. Together we print her images onto fabric which I them make into items which we sell. Some of these can be found in the New Shop Section of the website.

Talks can be booked using the Contact Me form and can be altered to include the areas in which the group I am talking to are interested.

There is also a variety of workshops available featuring either a Technique or a Project and designed for all abilities, these can last for an afternoon or evening session, or a whole day. In some cases you can choose to have a technique in the morning followed by a project using that technique in the afternoon.

Please enjoy the images that are shown and should there be anything else I can help you with do not hesitate to get in touch.
